How it all started
TROY SCALCO His passion for the auction industry began at a young age when he would go to the local livestock auctions with his grandfather. The excitement of the auction industry and commitment to public service led Troy to become and auctioneer and professional ringman! He has a special place in his heart for charity and benefit auctions.
EDUCATION He is a graduate of Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education. Troy has been a Katy, Texas resident for over 30 years, and has proudly served as a Texas Peace Officer for over 25 years.
INDUSTRY TRAINING Troy is a graduate from the Texas Auction Academy, and has furthered his auction education by attending the Professional Ringmen's Institute and obtaining his PRI designation. He is also a proud member of the Texas Auctioneers Association. With his industry specific training, a drive to do his best, and a natural talent to entertain, Troy is deemed an asset to our live auction team! His commitment and skill in the auction industry has led Troy to win the 2021 Texas Auctioneers Association, State Champion Team Competition! We are proud of you Troy!

EDUCATION I graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Agricultural Economics with a focus on Rural Entrepreneurship. My professional career led me to serve on multiple Chamber boards, and on different fundraising committees. Every organization wanted to include a live auction as part of their fundraising events, and of course I served as the auctioneer! This is where I began developing my chant and became overwhelmed with the feeling of joy and success after raising thousands of dollars for these organizations! It was at this point that I decided to make the commitment, and go to auction school!
INDUSTRY TRAINING I attended the Texas Auction Academy where I learned about auction law, general basic auctioneering, and the multiple facets of the auction industry. I furthered my area specific education by attending specialized training from the National Auctioneers Association, Education Institute specifically designed for fundraising and benefit auctions. I earned the designation of Benefit Auctioneer Specialist after completing the course which focuses on fundraising components of the auction event, item acquisition, revenue enhancers, audience development, and public relations. In May 2022, I obtained the designation of PRI after completing specialized ringmen training at the Professional Ringmen's Institute. I am a proud member of the Texas Auctioneers Association and an honored to have won the 2022 Texas Auctioneers Association, State Champion Ringman Competition!

BLAKE HARTMAN My passion for auctioneering began when I was young. My first auction debut was at a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity in Cuero, Texas. My good friend Col. Joe Adams was the auctioneer and there were a ton of baked goods being sold. Joe knew I was interested in becoming an auctioneer so he invited me up to call a few bids. There's no doubt I was nervous, and at that time, I had never called an auction before, nor did I have a chant. They say you have to start somewhere... Needless to say, the crowd got a kick out of it, so I still consider it a success!
"Thank you for your hard work, valuable input and suggestions for our 32nd Annual Auction! We know that the "Run Around" created some additional work for you as an auctioneer, but it generated $7,200 in donations at the close of the auction! This year we broke all previous records and raised $114,000 to support the Hays Caldwell Women's Center!"
